Vasectomy acceptance in Vietnam is clearly influence by features of family
planning programs right from their beginnings, which have been known as
"extensively influenced and controlled by the government" (Anh Dang, 1995),
and women-focused. Started in 1963, family planning programs in Vietnam have
reflected the political will that aims primarily at reducing population growth and
providing contraceptive methods for women. Even before the end of Vietnam
War, intra uterus device method (IUDs) was largely disseminated at the Red
River Delta in northern Vietnam. After the war, IUDs was spread throughout
Vietnam and became popular than ever. Meanwhile, methods for men, which
include vasectomy and condoms have not been enthusiastically encouraged
