Sexual coercion within marriage (SCWM) is often viewed as common among couples
(Population report, 1999) and is the cause of many women’s health related problems, yet,
little is known. This research analyses the male’s perceptions concerning the sexual
coercion concept, its causes and consequences. The argument is that thought most of the
men participate in the study do not accept the existence of SCWM or at least, the name of
the phenomenon, their explanation of the husband and wife’s roles in sexual relations and
their actual sexual experience show the reverse. The research concludes that proper
understanding of the male’s perceptions on SCWM will help to know the status and find
effective solutions for sexual coercion within marriage .
